Frequently asked questions

Straight answers to common coverage questions.

These general answers are a starting point. Eligibility, savings, plan details, and enrollment timing depend on your circumstances.

Does it cost anything to work with a Riteway agent?

There is no charge for ACA plan comparison and enrollment assistance. If any separate paid service is offered, its cost will be disclosed before you agree to it.

Who can use the ACA Health Insurance Marketplace?

Marketplace eligibility depends on factors that include residency, citizenship or eligible immigration status, incarceration status, and access to other qualifying coverage. A licensed agent can help review the basics, but final eligibility is determined through the Marketplace.

Can I enroll outside Open Enrollment?

You may qualify for a Special Enrollment Period after certain life events, such as losing coverage, moving, getting married, or having a baby. Deadlines and required documents vary by event.

What is a premium tax credit?

It is financial assistance that may lower the monthly premium for eligible Marketplace coverage. The amount is based on information such as projected household income, household size, and available coverage.

How do deductibles, copays, and coinsurance differ?

A deductible is generally the amount you pay for covered services before certain plan payments begin. A copay is a fixed amount for a covered service, while coinsurance is a percentage of the allowed cost. Exact rules vary by plan.

How can I check whether my doctor or prescription is covered?

Review the plan's provider directory and drug formulary, then confirm directly with the provider or pharmacy when possible. Networks and formularies can change, so verification is important.

What information should I have ready?

Household details, an estimate of annual income, Social Security numbers for applicants, immigration documents when applicable, and information about current coverage can help.

What if my income or household changes during the year?

Report relevant changes promptly. They may affect eligibility, premium tax credits, or the coverage options available to you.

Can Riteway help with renewals?

Yes. A yearly review can help confirm that your household information is current and that your plan still fits your needs.

Is Riteway the government Marketplace?

No. Riteway Affordable Care is an insurance agency and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the U.S. government or the federal Health Insurance Marketplace.
